Georg Rueter received his training at the National Academy in Amsterdam, among others, by August Allebé. He excelled in drawing and painting portraits and still lifes, and belonged at the beginning of this century the leading painters in our country, including among other things Breitner, Gestel, Maks and Sluyters were. Rueter was also employed as a glass painter, known for its windows of the New Church in Delft and the Pieterskerk in Leiden. He also designed bookplates, stamps, and book covers. Museums: inter alia Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam and Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem.
