Woodland river valley near "Kleef"
Klombeck was one of the most famous disciples of B.C. Koekkoek. He painted dreamy, romantic landscapes and woodland scenes with cattle and some figures on a dirt road, a river or valley ahead. Inspiration for his paintings he did in the wilderness around his home in Cleves. His paintings were often furnished by the Belgian painter Eugène Verboeckhoven, who worked from 1860 to Klombeck. Work depends on him, inter alia, in the 'Städtisches Museum in Kleve.
