Student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In 1897 he settled in Blaricum. The picturesque nature of the Gooi and the peasantry inspired him to paint peasant interiors with mothers and children playing. His work differs from that of other Gooi painters like A. Neuhuys and H. Beetle through the southern, sunny, bright colors. He had great success with his work, especially for Americans who visited our country. Pieters also excelled in painting beach scenes. After 1920 he painted some dreamy-Impressionist portraits and nudes. Museums: among others Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, the Singer Museum in Laren and Goois Museum in Hilversum.
